NOTICE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AND PUBLIC HEARING
KEENE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT BOARD (TYPE B EDC)
The Keene Business Development Board (Type B Economic Development Corporation) hereby gives notice, pursuant to the Texas Local Government Code, Section 505.159 and 505.160, that the Corporation proposes the use of sales tax proceeds to fund the following projects:
1. Maintenance and repairs of city parks at an estimated cost of $51,350
2. Utility costs for Carver Park at an estimated cost of $9,600
3. Removal of diseased trees and planting of new trees at Carver Park - $30,000
4. Promotional community events to include Movie in the Park, Christmas parade and fireworks, Santa House, and other community events - $14,850
5. Promotional costs to install and change out city pole banners - $4,000
The Corporation will hold a public hearing Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 3:30 p.m., to allow the public to present comments for and against the above proposed economic development projects. The financing for these projects will be paid with sales and use taxes levied and paid to the Type B Economic Development Corporation. None of these funds will be paid from property taxes. The Keene City Council will consider the projects at the Keene City Council meeting at 6:00 p.m. on September 22, 2022.
