Purpose & Mission
The City of Keene Code Enforcement work to protect the health, safety, and quality of life of our community through education, professional service, and fair and consistent enforcement of City ordinances.
Our goal is to encourage voluntary compliance by helping residents and businesses understand City requirements and providing opportunities to correct violations. We strive to address code concerns respectfully, consistently, and efficiently while maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive community for everyone.
Duties
Code Compliance Officers help enforce City ordinances related to:
- Property maintenance and nuisance conditions
- Health and safety concerns
- Illegal dumping and improper disposal
- Junked, abandoned, or inoperable vehicles
- Illegal signs
- Parking restrictions
- Garage and yard sales
- Other violations of City ordinances
