Overview
The Development Services Department serves as a resource for residents, property owners, contractors, and developers regarding construction and land development within the City of Keene. The department provides guidance on City requirements, coordinates development activities, processes permits and inspections, and helps applicants navigate the development process.
Our services include:

- Pre-Development Meetings – Coordinates meetings with City staff to discuss proposed projects, identify requirements, and answer questions regarding land development.
- Planning, Zoning & Platting – Provides information and guidance regarding zoning requirements, platting, subdivisions, and land-use regulations.
- Permits & Inspections – Processes building and development permits and coordinates inspections to ensure work complies with applicable codes, ordinances, and approved plans.

Pre-Development Meeting Request
To help City staff prepare for your meeting, please provide the following:
- Conceptual Plan: Submit a conceptual plan showing your proposed project. The more detail provided, the better City staff can review the proposal and provide guidance.
- Questions for City Staff: Provide a list of questions or topics you would like addressed regarding your project.
