The current property tax rate in Keene is $0.828978 on each $100 of assessed valuation of all taxable property, real, personal, or mixed, located in the City of Keene on the first day of January, and not exempted from taxation by the constitution and laws of the State of Texas. The City of Keene assesses the Town’s ad valorem (property) tax under the rules set by the Texas State Property Board. It is the function of the Central Appraisal District of Johnson County to appraise all Johnson County property at market value.
