Our Function
The Human Resources Department administers and oversees a wide range of personnel and employee service programs, providing guidance and support to City departments and employees. Our responsibilities include:

The department provides policy direction and administrative support on human resource management matters while helping City departments meet their service delivery responsibilities to the public. We also support employees in reaching their fullest potential with the City while maintaining a careful balance among the interests of City government, individual departments, and employees.
Employee Records
As the custodian of employee records, the Human Resources Administrator oversees the daily maintenance and organization of employee and volunteer records. This includes responding to public records requests involving current and former City employees in accordance with applicable requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
Human Resources also plays an important role in developing and maintaining the City’s job classification and compensation systems. Additional responsibilities include coordinating required training programs, managing citizen property damage claims, producing internal communications, and coordinating employee recognition programs.
