The patrol division is the "core" of the Keene Police Department. It is their responsibility to provide quick and effective service and protection to the city and its citizens, property, and visitors. 

Keene Police Department officers respond to calls for service, conduct preventative patrol for targeted areas, conduct business checks, conduct close patrols, and enforce local ordinances and Texas state laws. 

Patrol is divided into two shifts: "A" Shift and "B" Shift.

All the officers of the Keene Police Department are fully commissioned, licensed, and certified Texas Peace Officers.
