Garbage Truck
Trash carts are provided by our trash collection provider, Republic Services. Carts should be placed at the curb or public right-of-way no later than 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled day of collection. Carts may be placed out as early as 7:00 p.m. the day before collection and must be removed from the curb or public right-of-way no later than 9:00 a.m. the day after collection. Containers cannot be stored within 25 feet of a street or public right-of-way.

Please roll your cart within two feet of the edge of the street and make sure the handles are facing your house. Please check to see that the cart is not obstructed by parked cars, boats, etc. The post master requires that the carts be places far enough away from the mailbox that the carrier can deliver the mail without interference.

Trash Cart Guidelines

The cart is designed to hold a maximum weight of 175 pounds. All household trash and yard waste must be bagged before being placed in the cart. Please bag everything placed in the cart to help prevent littering. Everything must fit completely inside the cart with the lid closed. Because the cart is mechanically emptied, the driver does not leave the truck. The cart cannot be emptied if trash is placed on top of or next to the cart.

Do not place concrete, large amounts of dirt, heavy waste, hot ashes, paint, or hazardous liquids or materials in your cart.

If you need additional carts, you may request up to two additional carts by calling City Hall at 817-641-3336 and selecting Option 2. A nominal monthly fee applies to each additional cart.

For cart repairs or replacements, please contact the Republic Services Customer Service Department at 254-221-4416.

Bulk Pickup

No need to schedule bulk trash pickup! Place your bulk items at the curb with your cart by 7:00 a.m. on your regularly scheduled trash pickup day. Residents are allowed up to one cubic yard of bulk trash per week, including brush and yard cuttings.

Republic Services will collect tree limbs, tree trunks, hedge cuttings, and flat cardboard boxes. Tree limbs, tree trunks, and hedge cuttings must be cut into lengths no longer than four feet and tied into bundles. Items larger than four inches in diameter will not be collected, and bundles must not weigh more than 40 pounds.
